Oats Cashmere is created from the thick fleece of the cashmere Pashmina goat, renowned for producing some of the world's finest cashmere. The harvesting process involves combing and dehairing the goats before their natural shedding season, a meticulous and time-consuming method that ensures the highest quality fibers. The finest cashmere is determined by the purity of the yarn, utilizing longer hair strands that result in garments with a flatter and tighter texture. After washing, these strands become fuller and softer, enhancing the luxurious feel. Cashmere goats are low-maintenance animals that thrive by free-grazing on natural pastures.

Our designer, Debra McKelvey-Hayburn, originally from Montreal, has dedicated her life to sweater design since graduating from fashion design school. Now based in Laguna Beach, Debra creates cashmere pieces that transition effortlessly from city to beach, and from day to evening. Her approach centers on meticulous attention to detail, blending effortless style with modern luxury.
